Chris and DeAnna's Wedding

We were able to go see our friends Chris and DeAnna get married last weekend. They have been dating since Chris was a junior in high school, so 9 years!! They finally tied the knot. James left work early so we could attend the ceremony. We almost didn't make it because the whore at the salon scheduled me for a 1:00 manicure instead of 12:30 when I asked to be scheduled. We walked into the church right as they got to the alter so everyone was already standing up. James was definitely PO'ed at me. He he he. Whatever. Later in the evening we went to the reception, which I have to say was one of the best receptions I have ever been to. It was awesome! Good food, good friends, and dancing all night! Here's some pictures...

I wanted to learn how to sew so I didn't have to go to a tailor to get my clothes to fit. So I went out and bought a sewing machine thinking "How hard can this really be?". We I believe the sewing machine is the spawn of Satan. The thing hates me. James helped me thread the damn thing. (The weirdo sewed some of his own clothes in high school) But everything has gone down hill from there. I bought some material to practice on but it has not gone well. I'm now going to enroll in a sewing class at JoAnn's. Hopefully the ladies at JoAnn's can help me learn how to use this bitch so I don't end up throwing it into the pond out back.

A shout out to my boy, Pete

When Jaime and Pete came to visit, Pete was kind enough to help us around the house with a few home improvements. He put in some new lights in the bathrooms and in the dining "room". But the one thing that we appreciated the most was when he hooked up the water to our fridge so we can have nice cold water and finally some ice.

We have now become water drinking fools. And now I have my Holiday Oil mug so I can have 34 oz of wonderful, cold ice water. Thanks Pete!

Getting it done in the Mountain Time Zone

This post is a few days late but we got back from Utah on Tuesday. We were gone for a week. The trip started out as a bit of a disaster because we got delayed leaving Buffalo and missed our flight from Minneapolis at 9:45pm which was the last flight out. There wasn't another flight until 9:30 the next morning and since it was Northwest's fault we missed the connection they gave us a hotel room at the Holiday Inn Select. The nice flight attendant at the MN airport even gave us overnight bags (cause all our stuff was in the checked bags, except undies) that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and a shirt to sleep in. On another note, the other flight attendants in Buffalo and at the connecting flight's gate were complete whores.

We finally made it to Utah the next day at 11:30. That night I went to the lovely, very pregnant, Dari's shower. Jaime and I decided to give her the same gift even though we had no idea what each other was getting her. It was fun to see everyone!

Dari and the Payson ladies

On Thursday we drove up to the middle of nowhere, also called Blackfoot, ID. Sorry Shan! We got to hang out with my sister and nephew and nieces. It was a lot of fun. They showed us their garden and all the wild animals they have. And by wild animals I mean a couple cows and some turkeys. And James climbed up a really tall grain silo. He walked up the stairs but he said it was a long climb. :)

Friday we went to the greatest place ever for lunch, Souper Salad. Mindi, Jackson, Maddy, Sara and Cole came too. It was a fun time! After that we got to go swimming in my grandma's neighbor's pool. It was just me and James because Grandma Pat didn't want to get in. Instead she was our photographer for the day. James jumped off the diving board a few times but he's so uncoordinated that he hurt himself and had to take a break.

Look at him cleaning his table!

Just another day at the Souper Salad

Swimming!

We were blowing water at each other through the noodles, probably not sanitary.

Saturday Pete took us out on his boat. James is scared of water in general and I'm scared of water that I can't see to the bottom of, so we both wore life jackets while swimming. I only got in once cause the water was so muddy that I got really nervous. Plus Hank, the dog, tried to drown me. It was too windy to do any wake boarding so we just rode around in the boat. After that we went to my cousin Andrea's wedding. She looked really beautiful and had an ice cream bar. I was really excited for the ice cream.

Sunday we went to Raging Waters. Yes I know, lame, but I love it. Anytime I can be outside enjoying some water slides I am happy. Rage is still as ghetto as it has been but we had an awesome time. Pete put on a fake tat when we got there of some dolphin and a rose. James went down a slide and scratched his back and banged his head. Again, the un-coordination.

Monday we just chilled with the dogs, Sammy and Giz. Sammy kept shoving his duck in my face and it stunk like a rotten foot. It was no good. Then that night we went to dinner with all my awesome friends, even though some couldn't make it (Ann), it was a good time.

We came back Tuesday afternoon and I still haven't been able to recover. I blame jet lag. My boss says I still have that vacation high where I don't feel like doing any work. He's right. My foot is still too swollen to put a shoe on it. Though it probably didn't help when I ran (I use the word ran loosely) on it in the MN airport. Who in their right mind would have a plane land in the end of one terminal and have the connecting flight take off in the end of another terminal. Stupid. Good thing there was the flight attendant Kelly in MN that was so nice and helpful cause I was about ready to bomb something.

My foot has elephantitis

I decided to be free of the crutches today and walk on my own 1 1/2 feet. I got out of the car and started "walking" (I use the term loosely), I thought I was doing good. Then I started getting closer to work and further from the car, where my crutches lay, and realize that I probably wasn't ready cause my foot started hurting. I pushed forward and made it to my desk. One of the partners is calling me "hops-a-long". But when I got to my desk and pulled my chair out to sit down my computer tower decided to take a topple onto my already crippled foot. Tears came to my eyes. It did not feel good. The swelling has gone down but it still is pretty swollen. Especially my ankle where it looks like a golf ball is protruding from my foot. My foot and leg are starting to look a pretty shade of purply green.
On another note, I had the WORST manicure of my life yesterday. My cousin Sara offered to give me a manicure when I got to Utah but I couldn't make any of her days. So I decided to go to one of the day spa's here where I had a free manicure because James has spent so much there (Valentines Day). I also had a half a pedicure.... The girl was fresh out of school and sliced my pinkie with the sharp file. That hurt and started to bleed. And her nail polish skills were questionable. Now my pinkie is throbbing and I have band-aids on it. I proceeded to go home and take my nail polish off and re-do my nails myself. Typing is taking forever today. On that note...

Here is my foot under my desk...

My sorry looking pinkie. But my nails look nice. My hands look fat, the elephantitis has spread...

A craptastic ending to softball season

Well tonight was my last softball game this season for two reasons. One, I'll be flying to and from Utah for our official last game and playoffs. Two, I decided I wanted to slide into third. It didn't end well. I was safe but I also slammed my ankle into the bag and heard a pop. I had to go to the WNY Immediate Care. They were kind enough to do some x-rays, wrap my ankle and give me some crutches. It's not broken and I get to use the crutches for 3-4 days. My ankle is getting to be a pretty color of purple and the size of a golf ball. Needless to say, my season would have ended with my atrocious slide into third anyway. At least I went out with a bang. The only upside to using the crutches is that it is going to help with my yoga since I was never good at the balancing part.

A follow up to exercising

James is no help. This is our e-mail correspondence from this afternoon:
Brooke: Are you ready to go to the gym??!!

James: I feel sick. I shouldn't go.

Brooke: You are full of shit. You are still going.

James: Ahhhhh come on.

Brooke: Nope. I will pick you up at 6. Be ready.

James: oooohhhhh

I do not like exercising

I'm wondering why it is so difficult for me to go to the gym. Once I get there I'm fine and I work out for an hour or so but the hard part is actually getting myself there. I often use the excuse that I have to clean or I have too much to do. It's not really the case. My house is not that big where I need to be cleaning all the time. I like taking yoga and pilates but I can't seem to drag myself to the gym to actually take the class. Saturday was the perfect day to go to the gym. I finally didn't have to work in the morning, James was going to work at one and I didn't have Corinne's dinner until 7. But I felt that those hours between one and six were better spent watching things I had taped on DVR. Ugh, I'm so lazy. I'm finally going to the gym today only because I convinced an even lazier person to come too... James.

Missing: Blue The Turtle

Today is a sad, horrible day. Blue the turtle is missing. We don't know if he was kidnapped or ran away. He was in a kiddy pool on our deck and he tries to get out but it is almost physically impossible to do. So we have come to the conclusion that someone has taken him. Who would do such a horrific thing, you ask? I don't know, but they will pay for it when I find out. James is distraught. Roger, his pool mate, isn't talking. We have no clues. We put up signs around the neighborhood and knocked on some doors. But we have come up with nothing. Our turtle has mysteriously vanished from his pool. Here are some pictures of the missing:
