Draft Day at the Ralph

A couple weeks ago I entered this contest from Time Warner to win tickets to a Draft Day party at Ralph Wilson Stadium with Buffalo Bill Paul Posluszny. You had to answer all 5 questions right (they were some of Paul's stats, which I obviously googled for the answers) and then you were entered in a drawing for tickets. Well last week Time Warner called to inform me that I won! First the man asked me if I had remembered entering the contest, and I did not so I lied and said sure. Once he told me what it was I remembered and then got all flustered and excited. I needed to name who I was taking as my guest and since James was going to be working I said my BFF Kristin who is a huge Bills fan (she has had season tickets for 5 years). I immediately texted her and told her to call me ASAP. She is a teacher so I had to wait for her break which was the longest 30 minutes of my life. I had to pee so bad but I refused to leave my desk. The contest I won was not only for tickets to the party on the field but the after party in the Time Warner Goal Line Club with Paul Posluszny. While on the field I came within 2 feet of Ralph Wilson himself, the Bills owner. He's about 90 years old and when he dies the Bills will move out of Buffalo, it's a very big deal around here since it is probably the last thing keeping the city alive. At the after party I got to meet Paul himself. He is very nice and he signed a picture for me. Kristin also got to ask him a question, which flustered him since it was about the Bills playing some games in Toronto. Afterwards she asked him if he would be interested in doing his community service hours at her school's field days. He said yes, although I don't know if he was saying that to just be nice. But whatever, I already told Kristin that I will be also helping with her field days since I want to hang out with Paul some more, hehehe.

Bean Town!

This past weekend we were lucky enough to go visit Stevie and Peter in Boston. I had a free day off of work on Friday to celebrate "the end of tax season" since I work for a tax firm. The trip didn't start off too well with our flight out of Buffalo being delayed for 5 hours. But we didn't have a connecting flight to Boston so it wasn't really a big deal. They opened an Anchor Bar in the airport and our friend works there so we got to hang out with him for a while and get some free drinks. We finally got to Boston Thursday night at about 11:30. The next day we had tickets to the Red Sox game and went into the city about noon time. We got to walk through Yawkey Way and shop in the Official Red Sox Souviner Shop. After that we went over to Cask & Flagon next to the stadium which was voted #2 sports bar in America by ESPN. It was a pretty cool place and you could see the back of the Green Monstah from the window. We went into the game a little early to walk around and find our seats. Stevie got us some great tickets in the second row, centerfield. During the game I had delicious fried dough and a stadium dog. Mmmmm. On the way back to Stevie and Peter's we had some train trouble. And by trouble I mean James was harassing someone about the Bills and made us miss our stop. Unfortunetly the next stop was the last one for the train and there were no more going back to our station. So we started to walk back, even though none of us knew where to go. Luckily we flagged down a cab for which James paid for. Saturday we ventured back into the city to this great market area that had about 30 different places to eat in this "food court" set up. I ate some Mac & Cheese and a grilled cheese. Silly James wanted some of the local food and got some "chowda". Then it was off to Newbury Street to do some shopping and oh boy James was excited. The shops were outside so he didn't complain too much and it was a short shopping trip. On Sunday we woke up and went to get some seafood from the Summer Shack and then walked around Cambridge, which is where Harvard is. We had an awesome time and hopefully we can get back there soon!

The Bisons on a Sunday afternoon

Yesterday we got the pleasure of going to Easter brunch with James's parents which we followed up with a Bison's game. It was kind of chilly, 40 degrees when we got there. But I came prepared with a hoodie, jacket, gloves, an ear warmer, and a blanket. By the time we left it was almost 50 degrees. During the game there was a foul ball hit and was heading right for my head at a very fast pace. Luckily James told me to duck and he tried to catch it, with one bare hand, but didn't do it. I managed to spill my drink all over my blanket as I was ducking. James was very upset with himself for not catching the ball, but later in the game he was tossed one of those squishy balls. We also purchased some new shirts since the Bison's are now affiliated with the Mets and they changed their colors to match.

No, it's not the starting of the game, it was that dead the whole time.

Yeah! He finally caught a ball.

A resemblance?

I see a resemblance. They are both little monsters. My little monster has managed to piss on almost all furniture we own, both couches, the green banana chair. He has pissed on two pillows. He's crapped in every room at least twice. He has chewed on the wood at the bottom of the banister, two different floor boards and a wall. Yes, ladies and gentleman, a wall, a corner to be more specific. He has made James's ear bleed to the point that he had blood running down his neck. He's bit my nose and made it bleed. Last night he bit two of my fingers at different times. But it was on accident, we were playing with Mr. Snugga. I love the little guy but damn man, stop chewing on the walls at least.

Brooktini is in the house

What do these mean? It means Brooktini rocked the house and that I get $400. Boo-yeah! Boston here I come!
PS I did not get $400 from this one bracket. It was $100 from this, $175 from one at work and $125 from UNC winning the whole thing.
