Best Show on TV

Last night I watch one of the greatest shows on TV, well according to me. I like some reality TV like The Amazing Race, Cops, G's to Gents, The Hills, etc. Well I found one of the best shows on the channel Tru TV (I have Direct TV so I don't know if other people have this channel). I usually watch Cops re-runs on Tru TV and they were advertising this new show called Operation Repo. You guess it, it's a show about repossessing people's cars/atv's/motorcycles because they don't make their payments. This show is AMAZING! There were fights, spraying of some mase, guns (no one got shot), threats, and phone calls to the police. Me and Tank watched this show for 3 straight hours! If you have this channel I highly recommend checking it out. It's on Monday nights on Tru TV.

My new favorite word is: No.

I feel as though I'm saying "no" an awful lot these days. And the cause of this surge in the use of the word "no" I have traced back to Tank aka Monster. I know he's a puppy and doesn't know any better, yet, but I feel like I'm excessively yelling no. The following are some examples of my use of the word no:

No Tank! Don't eat my shoes.

No Tank! Don't eat my jacket strings.

No Tank! Don't eat my pant strings.

No Tank! Don't bite my face.

No Tank! Don't eat the stuffing out of your bed.

No Tank! Don't bite the kitchen cabinets.

No Tank! Don't eat those pine cones.

No Tank! Don't scratch the couch.

No Tank! Don't bite my hands.

No Tank! Don't lick the oven/fridge/dishwasher.

No Tank! Don't lick the couch.

No Tank! Don't eat the stuffing out of your toys.

No Tank! Don't piss/crap on the carpet right in front of me.

No Tank! Don't dig at my face with your paws.

No Tank! Don't chew on the remote control.

No Tank! Don't bite/lick my feet.

No Tank! Get out of the laundry basket.

No Tank! Don't lick my socks.

This is just a sample of examples I could provide.

Dogs should not eat asphalt rocks.

I learned that this weekend. Well at first I didn't know he had eaten asphalt rocks. Here's how that came about. We went to visit our friends Sheryl and John who also have a pug, who is named Bella. Tank and Bella hit it off really well and were playing together in the house. And by playing well I mean sniffing each others "areas". Then Bella wanted to go outside so Tank had to follow. James took them outside while me and Sheryl talked for a few minutes. When we came outside Tank and Bella were in a stand-off, barking at each other and swatting each other with their paws. They had to be separated so Tank was moved toward the driveway area where he proceeded to lick the driveway. I didn't really pay attention because I was talking with Sheryl. So we get home and the little guy is acting weird. Then he throws up and keeps throwing up. Yes, I know dogs puke all the time, but then he was dry-heaving and shaking. That's when I had had enough and demanded that we go to the Vet ER. So we went over there and they took some x-rays and said there we a couple "unusual items" in his stomach. They couldn't tell us what they were but said they had to pass or he would need surgery. We were instructed to walk him every hour (this was at 7pm) for 15 minutes until midnight and feed him this special dog food at 9 and 11 and then come back at 7am. Well Tank did not want to be walked every hour. He would sit down in the road and refuse to move, but eventually he would get up and we would finish the walk. The next morning we went to the ER and had another x-ray. The Dr. said whatever it is was getting ready to come out. Or her exact words were "it's in the poop shoot now". So we headed back home and waited and he finally went. My wonderful job was to go through the poop to see if what was in his stomach had come out. I had to wear a bandanna around my face so I couldn't smell anything and I had to keep walking away because it was soooo gross. But I found what I was looking for and it just so happened to be asphalt rocks. Geez, dog. And the next one was even worse, way more rocks. So $450 later we learned that dogs shouldn't eat asphalt.

The little monster has also figured out how to escape every blockade we have put up to keep him in the kitchen. His new nickname is Harry Houdini. He has also learned that we are upstairs and has attempted to climb the stairs. Well this morning at 2am he figured out how to get out of the kitchen, climb the stairs and bark at our door until we came out. I didn't know what else to do, plus it was 2am and I wasn't thinking, so I put him in our bed and he wouldn't sleep anywhere except my chest. UPS better deliver his gate from Pet's Mart today or I will be very unhappy.

Holy fall, Batman!

So this man yesterday, still unidentified, became the third person ever to go over Niagara Falls without any protection and not die. This is crazy shit. If you've ever been to Niagara Falls you know that there are two different falls, the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Each of these falls is about 200 feet high and the water below them is 200 feet deep, and they both have sharp, jagged rocks sitting there before the falls hits the water. Well this stupid Canadian decided to hop on over the fence into the Niagara River and then go over the falls. The force of the water was so great that it took his clothes off. And this is in the winter time so the water isn't going nearly as fast as it would during the summer. He obviously was trying to end his own life by jumping in the river and going over the falls, but it backfired. Here are some of my own pictures of the falls so you can see the rocks. Not to mention there is still ice in the river so it's not more than 30 degrees. And you can read the story in the Buffalo News here.

The happenings of Tank the puppy

These are some things I've noticed about Tank the puppy:

1- Likes to bite Brooke's face

2- Take a running leap towards Brooke's face

3- Pee right next to the puppy pads but not on them

4- He does not like his toys in the kitchen, he will take them out one by one into the living room

5- He can squeeze through a very small opening between the couch and the entertainment

center to escape from the kitchen during the day and poop in the living room.

6- Likes to bite the bottom of your pants when you are walking

7- He does not like his harness or his leash

8- He does not like when the wind is blowing

9- He does not like Jimmy C, which upsets Jimmy because he came over just to play with Tank.

10- He does not like James's parents even though they brought over some bones.

11- He will take a leaping jump from across the room and try to get on the couch.

12- He does not like the tag on his bed and had proceeded to rip it off.

13- Pretty much likes to bite everything in sight.

14- Sleep on Brooke's shoulder like a parrot or on her arm while trying to use the laptop.

15 - Does not like the laptop in Brooke's lap because he wants to be there so he will pounce on the keys and cause Brooke's term paper to be messed up.

So far this little monster has managed to poop on the Levi blanket, rip apart my Winnie the Pooh blanket and piss on everything possible. But I still love him. Any advice on house breaking puppies? I already have about 5 puppy pads around the house and spank him when he doesn't go to the bathroom on them.

The Vin-Lew Addition

Here is the newest edition to the Vin-Lew household. TANK! We have been looking in the paper everyday for pugs to go on sale. We have been in contact with a few people but they wanted an extreme amount of money for the puppies. Some of the puppies were made for breeding so it was understandable, others were not. So yesterday James calls to tell me there is a new ad in the paper and we should call. He gave the lady a call and she had a black male ready to be picked up yesterday for $550, which was right in our price range. He told her we would be there at 7:30 to look at him and possibly take him home. When he called me back I was so excited that I left work early and went to Pet's Mart and bought all the supplies we needed. I then went home and cleaned my messy house so that he wouldn't be eating anything he wasn't supposed to. We got to the lady's house and she brought him out and he was so cute. She showed us the mom and dad and they were HUGE! Then she tells us "He's the biggest one of the litter so we have been calling him Tank". I shout "SHUT UP! That is the name I already had picked out". Me and Tank were meant to be. We took him home and about 3 minutes after being in the house he made himself comfy by shitting on my carpet. It happened twice again this morning followed by some pee. So at least we know he's going to the bathroom ok. He already does not like his harness or being outside in the wind. He's very rambunctious and likes to bite. I didn't sleep well last night cause I wanted to be up playing with him. So I got up at 6am, got ready and played with him for an hour before work. I can't wait to go home!

Take that Patty Sampson!

The past two weeks or so I've noticed that my pants are a bit ill-fitting. Not in a bad way, well yes bad, but because they are too big. I've lost some weight on my Transitions Life diet to the point where I need to start buying new pants or learn how to use the sewing machine to take the old ones in. But I am too busy at this moment. When I came home from school yesterday, James asked me if I was wearing his pants. I was not. That's when I decided I needed to dig deeper into my clothes stuffed closet and find some "thin pants" which are the opposite of "fat pants". This morning I took a chance on a pair of pants, which the last time I wore them the button on the top was a bit "strained" and was about to pop off. Not today my friend! The pants are fitting well, not to big and snug enough to stay on. At weigh-in's last week I had lost 8 lbs! Hip Hip Hooray! The next weigh in may not go as well since I had to stop taking the supplements because of the "rash" or "discoloration" I got in the Dominican. My foot keeps going numb and gets tingly and is sometimes swollen so they think it's infected and I'm on antibiotics. Boooo. But today it is feeling better.
